Position Overview
The Marketing Coordinator supports the hospital's internal and external marketing functions by coordinating educational programs, community outreach activities, client communications, intern programs, and promotional initiatives. This role assists hospital leadership in building and maintaining the hospital's brand reputation, referring veterinarian relationships, and community presence. The Marketing Coordinator is a creative, organized professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Gain hands-on experience in Emergency, Orthopedics, Advanced Soft Tissue Surgery, and Exotics.
- Work alongside a skilled team in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles of marketing, public relations, and advertising.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative problem-solver with ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with email marketing and social media management tools preferred.
- Team player who is self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures.
- Willingness to travel locally as required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
- One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- Veterinary or healthcare marketing experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Dependable attendance is required.
- Must be willing to travel to community events and other hospital locations as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds (for transporting marketing materials).
Essential Functions — Duties include, but are not limited to:
Intern and Student Programs:
- Coordinate visits and activities for veterinary school students and externs including scheduling, communication, and required documentation.
- Manage the intern selection and assimilation process including maintaining application platforms, organizing applications, liaising with veterinary schools, assisting new interns with relocation and orientation, and developing rotational schedules.
Continuing Education and Events:
- Organize and support continuing education classes, seminars, and referring veterinarian events.
- Manage hospital involvement in local community events including planning, materials coordination, and on-site representation.
- Coordinate special events for staff and referring Veterinarians including holiday gifts, appreciation luncheons, and recognition programs.
- Assist with quarterly continuing education seminars in the local area as needed.
Communications and Outreach:
- Communicate hospital news, announcements, service updates, and promotional information to referring Veterinarians via direct mail, email, and other channels.
- Update hospital website, social media pages, brochures, and other marketing materials as directed.
- Send client cards and letters including thank-you notes, welcome cards, and sympathy cards as directed.
- Maintain client communication initiatives including newsletters, birthday cards, and wellness reminder campaigns.
Marketing Support:
- Assist hospital and regional managers in evaluating and pursuing new marketing opportunities across digital, print, radio, and social media platforms
- Coordinate promotional activities for newly hired Veterinarians.
- Order, inventory, and distribute marketing materials including brochures, business cards, pens, magnets, and signage.
- Assist with veterinary recruiting efforts including job posting coordination and scheduling of candidate visits.
- Understand, participate in, promote, and support all planned marketing events and programs; present marketing promotions to clients and referring partners in a professional manner.
- Track and report on marketing activities and referring veterinarian engagement metrics.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
- Have a valid driver’s license/insurance and have a consistent mode of transportation.
- Veterinary industry experience preferred
- Experience in marketing, sales, or relationship management highly desirable
- 2+ years of marketing experience.
- Experience building relationships with referral partners.
- Experience with community outreach initiatives.
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of marketing courses or college coursework.
Schedule
- Monday- Friday primary some weekends for community events
- This is an onsite position with 80% travel
