PetVet Care Centers' Animal Medical Center of Cumming is currently seeking Full-Time Kennel Assistants to join their team!

Position Overview
Join our team as a Kennel Assistant who supports and adds value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. This position supports veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment; feeding, exercising, restraining and handling pets.
At Animal Medical Center of Cumming in Cumming, Georgia, we are a team of dedicated animal care professionals operating a full-service veterinary hospital with a large boarding facility. We are hard-working, confident, and enthusiastic about our profession and provide exceptional medicine, boarding, and playtime to our community. Key Responsibilities
- Walking dogs
- Ability to oversee multiple dogs in an outside setting for playtimes.
- Providing fresh food and water.
- Cleaning animal waste, spilled food and other debris from kennel.
- Checking dogs/cats in for boarding, playtime, and daycare.
- Taking animals to and from the kennel.
- Bathing
- Be able to read body language and/or signs of aggression.
- Ensuring safety of everyone.
- Assisting other hospital staff.
- Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry throughout the clinic.
- Confident in handling animals.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday from 7:30am - 6pm
- Saturdays from 7:30am-2pm; 4pm-5pm
- Sundays from 8am-9am; 4pm-5pm
- Holidays
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cumming, GA 30041: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Qualifications (Required)
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors
- This is a strenuous job that requires a lot of lifting, cleaning, and constant motion
- Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting or carrying moderately heavy animals (up to 50 pounds)
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Some experience working at a kennel or animal hospital preferred
- High school or equivalent
