Sports Medicine / Lameness Veterinarian (DVM)
Brandon Equine Medical Center
Brandon Equine Medical Center is dedicated to delivering exceptional equine medical and surgical care to a diverse and high-level clientele, including Western performance horses, Hunter/Jumpers, and Dressage athletes. Our team includes experienced veterinarians, board-certified specialists, and a highly skilled support staff who cultivate a collaborative, positive, and team-oriented work environment. We are excited to welcome a talented Sports Medicine/Lameness DVM to our growing practice.
About the Role
We are seeking a veterinarian with strong expertise in advanced ultrasonography, including detailed imaging of joints and soft tissue structures. The ideal candidate is comfortable interpreting advanced diagnostic imaging modalities, is experienced in the routine use of non-steroidal biologic therapies, including IRAP, PRP, Pro-Stride, and related regenerative medicine treatments for orthopedic case management.
This position involves managing upper-level sport horse cases across dressage, hunter/jumper, and western performance disciplines. The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a referral hospital setting and participating in an emergency/on-call rotation with specialist back-up. Excellent client communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential. Applicants must also be willing to complete a 2–3 day on-site working interview as part of the hiring process.
Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training or board certification in Sports Medicine or Surgery, certification through the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP), and/or formal certification in chiropractic care or spinal manipulation therapy.

- Perform comprehensive lameness evaluations and advanced diagnostics
- Provide consultation and develop and implement sports medicine treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with internal medicine and surgical teams
- Deliver exceptional client communication and patient care
- Participate in emergency on-call rotation
What We’re Looking For
- DVM (or equivalent) degree
- Florida veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong interest and passion for equine lameness and sports medicine
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
