Position Overview
Join our team as a Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.
Carolina Veterinary Specialists - Matthews in Matthews, North Carolina, is proud to be serving the greater Charlotte area since 2012. We offer a full range of emergency and specialty services in a state-of-the-art facility—conveniently located just off I-485.

What You'll Do:
As a Neurology Technician or Assistant, you'll be part of a cohesive, highly skilled team. This advanced role includes:
- Performing neurologic examinations and diagnostics, including on-site CT & MRI
- Assisting with anesthesia and neurosurgery
- Monitoring patients and assisting in recovery care
- Providing client education and regular communication
- Conducting technical procedures such as:
- Venipuncture and catheterization
- Surgical preparation and sterile techniques
- Administering and monitoring anesthesia
- Sample and lab prep
- Administering medications and fluid therapies

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct exams and interviews to determine patient needs
- Collect and process samples; administer medications and vaccines
- Assist in imaging, diagnostic studies, and surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Monitor patient vitals and responses; ensure safe recovery
- Adhere to safety standards and legal regulations
- Fill prescriptions and ensure proper handling of controlled substances
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Veterinary clinical nursing: 2+ years experience (Required)
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and remain active throughout the shift
- Positive, team-focused attitude
Preferred Skills:
- Credentialed Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT)
- Neurology experience: a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in:
- Phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Emergency and critical care
- Medication administration and fluid therapy
- Understanding of patient norms and medical terminology
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7AM to 5PM (4-day work week) plus on call for weekends and holidays
