Position Overview

Join our team as a Central Sterile Processing & Pack Prep Technician who is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments, procedure packs, specialty equipment, and sterile supplies that support Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and capable of anticipating the needs of multiple departments while maintaining the highest standards of sterility, infection prevention, and patient safety.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Tuesday-Friday from 8AM-5PM
Work Location: In Person

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and store surgical instruments, equipment, and procedure packs.
• Prepare specialty-specific surgery and treatment packs according to hospital standards.
• Operate sterilization equipment, maintain accurate sterilization logs, and complete required quality assurance documentation.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage; communicate repair or replacement needs.
• Maintain sterile inventory, organize storage areas, and ensure supplies are available for scheduled and emergency procedures.
• Monitor daily procedure schedules to anticipate instrument and supply needs across multiple specialty services.
• Prioritize instrument processing based on emergency needs, procedures, and hospital workflow.
• Restock surgical suites, treatment areas, and specialty departments.
• Assist with inventory management and communicate supply needs to leadership.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, infection prevention, and hospital safety standards.
• Properly handle biohazardous waste, sharps, and contaminated materials.
• Support veterinary technicians, assistants, veterinarians, and hospital teams as needed.

Qualifications (Required)

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and anticipate departmental needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow written protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Previous experience in veterinary medicine, specialty veterinary hospitals, sterile processing, central supply, or healthcare settings.
• Experience operating autoclaves or sterilization equipment.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection prevention, and sterilization practices.
• Familiarity with veterinary surgical instruments, medical terminology, and pack assembly.
• Experience supporting multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
