Position Overview

Join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian, determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, reviewing care plans and records, completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $31.00 USD

Required Knowledge Base

  • Oral anatomy (tooth roots, nerve pathways, bone structure)
  • Pharmacology relevant to dentistry (NSAIDs, antibiotics, local anesthetics)
  • Infection control and sterile technique
  • Post-operative care and pain management protocols
  • Species-specific dentition

Dental specific responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Oral Assessment and Charting
  • Scaling and Polishing
  • Simple and Surgical Dental Extractions
  • Suturing
  • Dental Radiology
  • Anesthesia & Monitoring

General Tech Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Conduct patient examinations, collect samples, run diagnostics, and review care plans and records.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments; assist with examinations and procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary environment by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting treatment areas, and following all health and safety regulations.
  • Accurately document patient conditions, update medical records, and manage controlled drug logs.
  • Pursue continuing education and stay current with veterinary practices and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or the Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) required.
  • At least 3 or more years of surgery and/or dental experience.

Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts with possibility of Saturdays included.
