Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) - PetVax Complete Care Centers Midtown

Position Overview
- We have a supportive, team-oriented hospital environment where communication and teamwork between our reception and medical teams are very important.
- Opportunities for growth and learning within the hospital, a welcoming team atmosphere, and the ability to work alongside an experienced medical team. We value compassion, professionalism, teamwork, and creating a positive experience for both our clients and patients.
- We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and their pets and wants to be part of a positive, fast-paced veterinary hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
- Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
- Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
- Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
- Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
- Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.
Qualifications (Required)
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate during stressful or emotional situations
- Comfortable working around dogs and cats
- Willingness to learn veterinary terminology, hospital procedures, and workflows
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Previous customer service, receptionist, administrative, or veterinary experience preferred
- Veterinary receptionist experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule
- Part-Time, Monday-Friday from 8AM-5PM based on hospital needs and some weekends
- Typically, Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, and some weekends, depending on the week
- You may be scheduled some mornings or just some afternoons depending on hospital needs
