Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our PetVet team in a unique dual-hospital role supporting both Quail Hollow Veterinary Hospital and Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position is ideal for a technician with a strong background in surgery and anesthesia who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The primary hospital location will be Quail Hollow Veterinary Hospital, with additional weekly support provided at Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital. The schedule for this role includes:
- Two 10-hour shifts per week at Quail Hollow Veterinary Hospital
- One 10-hour shift per week at Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital

Key Responsibilities
Surgical & Anesthesia Support
- Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures
- Administer and monitor anesthesia for routine and advanced procedures
- Monitor patient vitals during surgery and recovery
- Maintain anesthesia equipment and surgical monitoring devices
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures
- Ensure proper sterile technique and surgical suite preparation
Patient Care & Nursing
- Conduct patient assessments and obtain vital signs
- Collect laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
- Assist with venipuncture, catheter placement, and radiology
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Client Communication & Team Support
- Communicate patient updates and discharge instructions to clients
- Support veterinarians during examinations and procedures
- Collaborate closely with doctors and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain inventory and medical supplies
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout treatment and surgical areas
General Duties
- Maintain a safe, humane, and compliant work environment
- Participate in continuing education and professional development
- Perform additional duties as assigned by hospital leadership
Qualifications (Required)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience required
- Strong surgery and anesthesia monitoring experience required
- Ability to multitask and adapt between two hospital environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- FEAR FREE handling experience preferred
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, and patient restraint
Schedule
- Three 10-hour shifts per week
- Two shifts at Quail Hollow Veterinary Hospital
- One shift at Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital
- Rotating or occasional weekend availability may be required based on hospital needs
