Position Overview
The IT Project Deployment Specialist is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for delivering large-scale, multi-site technology initiatives across PetVet Care Centers’ national footprint.
This role is primarily project-driven, with an initial focus on two enterprise-wide initiatives: - Network remediation across hundreds of hospital locations - Migration from decentralized Active Directory environments to a unified Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) ecosystem.
The Specialist will work directly with hospital staff, internal IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure successful planning, coordination, and execution of these projects. This includes user-level engagement, data migration, identity transformation, and standardization of systems and processes.
Following completion of these foundational initiatives, this role will transition into ongoing infrastructure and technology lifecycle projects, supporting continuous modernization across all sites. This role will lead and execute assigned deployments end-to-end, ensuring successful planning, coordination, delivery, and post-deployment validation.
Role Scope
- Supports large-scale IT transformation initiatives across ~450 hospital locations
- Executes structured, repeatable deployment processes across multiple sites
- Works directly with end users to drive adoption of new systems and workflows
- Coordinates with vendors performing on-site work while managing remote execution tasks
- Contributes to standardization of infrastructure, identity, and end-user computing
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Project Execution
- Execute site-by-site deployment plans for large-scale IT initiatives
- Coordinate and track progress across multiple locations simultaneously
- Partner with contractors and vendors performing on-site work
- Ensure consistency and quality in implementation across all sites
2. Network Remediation Initiative
- Identify and resolve IP addressing conflicts across ~220 locations
- Validate network configurations and coordinate remediation activities
- Work with field vendors to implement standardized network designs
- Document changes and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
3. Identity & Systems Transformation (Microsoft Entra Migration)
- Lead migration of sites from standalone Active Directory domains to Microsoft Entra
- Transition users from shared/generic accounts to individual identity-based access
- Provision user accounts, email, and single sign-on (SSO)
- Work directly with users to:
- Identify current data storage locations
- Migrate files to OneDrive and standardized platforms
- Ensure proper access and permissions post-migration
- Support user onboarding, training, and adoption of new systems
4. End-User & Site Engagement
- Work directly with hospital staff to guide them through system changes
- Provide remote support during and after migrations
- Address user concerns and ensure minimal disruption to operations
- Deliver clear, non-technical communication to end users
5. Ongoing Infrastructure & Lifecycle Projects
Following initial transformation initiatives, support ongoing projects including:
- Windows OS upgrades and endpoint standardization
- Network equipment refresh (routers, firewalls, access points)
- Software rollouts and system implementations
- New site onboarding and acquisitions
6. Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and standards
- Identify opportunities to improve deployment efficiency and repeatability
- Contribute to development of playbooks for future rollouts
Qualifications (Required)
- 2–5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or deployment roles, with demonstrated ability to execute deployments independently or with minimal guidance
- Experience working in multi-site environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DHCP, DNS)
- Windows environments and endpoint management
- Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra (Azure AD)
- Experience supporting end users directly
- Strong organizational and execution skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites/projects concurrently
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with large-scale migrations or deployments
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (OneDrive, Exchange Online, Teams)
- Experience with identity transformation or SSO implementations
- Exposure to healthcare or veterinary environments
