Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) - Setauket Animal Hospital
PetVet Care Centers' Setauket Animal Hospital is currently seeking a Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) to join their team!

Position Overview
Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.
Setauket Animal Hospital in East Setauket, New York, is a 5-doctor general practice that is in search of a compassionate, dedicated team player looking to start at our hospital. Our team is extremely collaborative, friendly, and is looking to welcome new team members with open arms. Our facility believes in the utmost quality of life for all staff members to ensure we have a balanced work vs. life atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, efficiently check-in and check-out pets, and manage appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow
- Handle medical collections accurately, including processing payments
- Manage multi-line phones and schedule appointments appropriately
- Maintain accurate medical records using a system software(Avimark experience is a plus)
- Communicate effectively with doctors and technical staff regarding patient flow and scheduling
- Provide clear, professional client communication both in person and over the phone
- Maintain a clean, organized reception area and assist with light cleaning tasks
Qualifications (Required)
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Minor animal care background accepted
- Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records
- Excellent customer service skills, providing courteous and prompt assistance
- Accurate cash handling and cashiering abilities
- Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting animals up to 50 pounds
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience in a veterinary setting and Avimark
- We are willing to train in veterinary triage and Avimark but it is ideal to have some knowledge of animal care
Schedule: 5 days a week either 8AM-5PM or 9AM-6PM, Saturdays are required, no after hours
