Associate Equine Veterinarian (DVM)
Austin Equine Hospital
Austin Equine Hospital is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Associate Equine Veterinarian to join our growing practice. We are a full-service equine hospital dedicated to delivering high-quality medicine and surgery to a diverse clientele ranging from performance horses to pleasure and companion horses. Our collaborative environment, experienced veterinary team, and skilled support staff create an ideal setting for both professional growth and exceptional patient care.
About the Position
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive ambulatory and in-hospital care, including preventative medicine, dentistry, lameness evaluations, emergency services, and medical case management. Candidates with an interest in sports medicine, reproduction, internal medicine, or surgery are encouraged to apply, as we value individual strengths and areas of passion.
The ideal candidate is confident in routine diagnostics and treatment planning, communicates effectively with clients, and works well within a team-based setting. Participation in a shared emergency/on-call rotation is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine wellness exams and preventative care
- Diagnose and treat medical and lameness cases
- Provide emergency and urgent care services
- Develop and communicate treatment plans with clients
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records
- Collaborate with colleagues and hospital staff to ensure high standards of care
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Eligible for Texas veterinary licensure
- Strong interest in equine medicine and surgery
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
