Position Overview

PetVet Care Centers is seeking an experienced Data Lead to support the Pricing and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams in designing and implementing scalable data modeling, analysis, and reporting solutions.  This is a dedicated finance role requiring fluency when interfacing with accounting/finance/FP&A teams.  This role will collaborate heavily with the IT team – especially Business Intelligence and Data Management teams -- using existing database architecture and data warehouses to drive automation and deliver business-facing insights that directly support financial decision-making and operational execution.

This role will be central to creating the foundation for standardized pricing frameworks, financial analysis, and business reporting across a large and diverse network of veterinary hospitals. The person will lead pricing and FP&A data standardization efforts, including data mapping and attribution to maintain a consistent hierarchy of standardized SKUs, and will ensure data integrity and comparability across multiple Practice Information Management Systems (PIMS).

This is a hybrid position with a requirement to work out of the Westport, CT headquarters multiple times a quarter.

Key Responsibilities

Data Standardization

  • Lead data attribution and standardization initiatives to ensure consistent and accurate pricing, inventory, and financial data from PIMS sources.
  • Maintain scalable data mapping architecture and build associated reporting to create standardized hierarchies of SKUs and classifications.
  • Partner with IT to prepare and validate historical data for alignment with mapping structure.
  • Streamline data aggregation for accurate financial rollups and executive reporting.

Data Transformation & Integration

  • Build and automate transformation workflows to consolidate data from disparate sources.
  • Utilize SQL, Alteryx, and Excel to clean, normalize, and prepare data for reporting and analytics.
  • Partner with the Pricing team to design algorithmic and conditional workflows in Alteryx, setting ranges, thresholds, and logic for pricing and financial models.
  • Leverage external sources and qualitative data to strengthen financial and operational models.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze, develop, and maintain pricing models to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Build and support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to model price vs. build elasticity and margin impacts across scenarios.
  • Evaluate pricing performance, forecast variances, and key financial metrics; provide actionable recommendations.
  • Create and maintain exception tracking for sku pricing, charge capture, and other end user non-compliance concerns.
  • Apply machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts to enhance pricing strategy, forecasting, and operational insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with IT to develop dynamic dashboards and reports in Tableau Cloud and Power BI to support pricing analytics, performance tracking, and FP&A forecasting.
  • Collaborate with IT to align data structure and integration strategies with enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with corporate stakeholders to align pricing and forecasting assumptions
  • Communication across functions such as Marketing, Operations and others to capture functional KPI’s within reporting dashboards to analyze performance and productivity
  • Collaborate with DVMs and medical professional teams as needed to contextualize data inputs, ensuring models and outputs align with veterinary standards and best practices

Qualifications (Required)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data analytics or financial reporting roles involving multiple, disparate source systems.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a business analyst role with a focus on pricing, forecasting, or financial analysis (multi-unit veterinary, or healthcare industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in data mapping, modeling, and reporting across complex, multi-system environments (transactional/sku-level data preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL, business intelligence tools (Tableau preferred), and workflow/data automation tools (Alteryx preferred).
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, revenue drivers, and margin analysis.
  • Experience supporting enterprise pricing strategies or revenue management functions
  • Exposure to forecasting methodologies, financial modeling, or predictive analytics
  • Experience working in a corporate, matrixed organization

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to turn complex datasets into actionable insights.
  • High standards for data integrity, quality, and governance.
  • Problem solver with demonstrated ability to design and execute scalable data solutions.
  • Skilled communicator able to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined in data validation and testing.
  • Genuine interest in veterinary care and mission-driven work supporting animal health.
