Equine Veterinary Assistant- SEQUIM based
Sound Equine Veterinary Hospital is seeking to immediately fill the position of Sequim- Based Field Assistant
Hours: Full-time, hours vary. 3 days Olympic Peninsula, 1 day in Poulsbo
Reports to: Assigned doctor, Practice Manager
Department: Field/Hospital
Location: Olympic Peninsula/Poulsbo
Compensation: Hourly, based on experience
Tasks Include:
- Assist doctor on the Olympic peninsula 3 days/Hospital 1 day.
- Organization of doctor’s truck and inventory, stocking procedures, and maintaining a clean functional workspace
- Drive an SUV
- Maintain cleanliness and ensure proper sterilization/storage of equipment
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
- Set- up for surgery and procedures
- Equine restraint and safe handling
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- High school or equivalent preferred
- Ability to follow directions with and without supervision
- Effectively communicate with the doctor
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility with daily scheduling
- Equine experience and handling required
