Job Description
Job Title: Facility Custodian at the Hagyard McGee Medicine Center
Department: McGee Medicine Center
Supervisor: McGee Medicine Leadership Team
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- At start of shift, walk through Medicine facility including all barns to determine any immediate custodial needs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the Medicine facility including common areas (front reception, bathrooms, break rooms, HBOT hall and closet, sterilizing and laundry rooms).
- Ensure hand sanitizers are maintained, refilled, and working properly throughout facility.
- Maintain adequate stock of paper towel and soap dispensers throughout facility including barns and restrooms. Inform Medicine Office manager of stock needed and/or malfunctioning units.
- Refill NDC, AHP and Rescue bottles throughout the facility.
- Maintain appropriate labeling of cleaning/sterilizing containers (e.g. spray bottles, foam dispensers).
- Wipe down all door handles, light switches, and windows throughout the Medicine facility.
- Clean breakroom tables and counters 2 x daily, or more often as needed.
- Clean employee and doctor breakroom refrigerators biweekly, or as indicated based on use Ultrasound machines in ICU and ISO:
- Clean and disinfect machines including carts/wheels, codes.
- Clean the ultrasound cover.
- Footwear storage cabinets (ICU and ISO):
- Clean and disinfect the inside and outside of cabinets with designated cleaning wipes. o Make sure boots are organized and no manure noted on sole. o Deep Cleaning of boot cabinets (2x week, or more often if indicated).
- Restock plastic booties for visitors.
- Clean interior of dystocia van daily, or as indicated based on use.
- Sterilize alcohol and chlorhexidine steel scrub containers (weekly) and place sterilization date.
- Sterilize fluid ropes and hospital accessory equipment as indicated by patient location/status. Maintain cleanliness of washers, dryers, and dishwashers within Medicine facility. Notify Medicine office manager of maintenance concerns.
- Clean windows weekly to biweekly or as needed to maintain facility cleanliness.

- To offer solutions and demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with clients, supervisors, doctors, management, other team members, and outside vendors or suppliers.
- To maintain a professional appearance and a courteous attitude.
- To maintain a clean/sanitary and well-organized work/service area at all times.
- To contribute to the overall team by utilizing your skills and knowledge to achieve performance excellence.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to write/document technical information and general correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from doctors, other staff and clients.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and volume. Ability to apply simple math formula.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer software knowledge and keyboarding skills.

Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Overtime as directed. Weekends as needed.
All time off to be pre-approved by McGee Medicine Barn Crew Supervisor & Office Manager.
