Position Overview

  • The Customer Service Representative / Receptionist contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
  • Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
  • Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
  • Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
  • Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
  • Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications (Required)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous receptionist, customer service, or veterinary clinic experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate customer service to pet owners
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills (scheduling software, email, data entry)
  • Ability to schedule appointments, answer phones, and manage patient records
  • Comfortable working around animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to handle confidential client and medical information
  • Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
  • Availability to work hospital hours (Monday 8am–5pm, Tuesday–Friday 8am–6pm)

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
  • Familiarity with veterinary practice management software
  • Basic knowledge of animal care and medical terminology

Pay Range
$19.17$23.41 USD
