We’re currently seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a CVT with solid experience in anesthesia, surgical assisting, and dentistry, who thrives in a team environment and is ready to take the next step in professional development.

Position Overview

As a CVT at Green Trails Animal Clinic, you’ll serve as a vital part of our medical team, supporting our veterinarians in both surgical and outpatient settings. You’ll use your technical skills daily, assist in mentoring junior staff, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and positive clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surgery & Anesthesia
    •  Prepare and monitor patients for surgical and dental procedures
    • Induce, maintain, and recover patients under anesthesia safely and confidently
    • Operate and maintain anesthesia and monitoring equipment
    • Maintain sterile technique and surgical suite cleanliness
  • Dentistry
    •  Perform dental charting, scaling, polishing, and radiography
    • Assist veterinarians with extractions and advanced dental procedures
    • Educate clients on dental home care and oral health
  • Patient Care
    •  Administer medications, fluids, and treatments per DVM instruction
    • Obtain blood, urine, and cytology samples and perform lab testing
    • Place IV catheters and calculate fluid and drug doses accurately
    • Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records
  • Team & Leadership
    •  Mentor veterinary assistants and newer technicians
    • Participate in training, CE opportunities, and team meetings
    • Maintain compliance with safety and OSHA standards

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Active Illinois CVT license in good standing
  • Preferred:
    • Cornerstone or similar PIMS experience
    • Interest in technician training and leadership
    • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with strong surgical and dental skills
    • Proficiency with anesthesia, monitoring, and dental radiographs

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time position (4–5 days per week, no Sundays or major holidays)
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Pay Range
$19.85$24.25 USD
