Sport Horse Veterinary Technician
Job Title: Sport Horse Technician - WEC OHIO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Skills/Responsibilities Required:
The primary role and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- This role is designed to help our Sport Horse Veterinary team, which covers the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Wilmington, Ohio during competition/show weeks. These shows happen during most of the year. Traveling to and from Lexington, KY-Wilmington, OH during those weeks is required. Each show week is approximately Tuesday-Sunday, overtime may be expected.
- During non-show weeks: base location or ability to travel to Lexington location on occasion for training and show assistance. This will be on-site at our clinic.
- Provide assistance and support to a Sport Horse Veterinarian in the delivery of primary care and diagnostic services.
- Hold/restrain, hand jog, and lunge patient for examination, treatment, and procedures.
- Maintain a clean/sanitary and well-organized work/service area.
- Coordinate ordering and restocking all medical equipment, drugs, and supplies.
- Complete medical records and other documents such as billing, reports, and charts for patients, as directed by the Veterinarian (may be remote or in-person).
- Assist with and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Prepare required quarterly inventory counts in accordance with deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Equine experience preferably in Eventing, Hunter/Jumper, or competitive English riding. WEC is primarily an English showing facility, specially designed for jumping disciplines. Applicants with relevant riding, showing, or grooming experience are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication.
- Ability to lift 75 -100 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
Schedule:
- Tuesday-Sunday in Wilmington OH, 40 hours per week minimum.
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.

- To offer solutions and demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with clients, supervisors, doctors, management, other team members, and outside vendors or suppliers.
- To maintain a professional appearance and a courteous attitude.
- To maintain a clean/sanitary and well-organized work/service area at all times.
- To contribute to the overall team by utilizing your skills and knowledge to achieve performance excellence.

- Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Language Ability:

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from doctors, other staff and clients.
- Math Ability:
- Ability to apply intermediate math formulas.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer software knowledge to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
