Equine Anesthesia Technician

Are you passionate about equine care and thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment? Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is seeking a skilled and motivated Equine Veterinary Anesthesia Technician to support our surgeons, patients, and hospital team. This role focuses on anesthesia management, surgical support, and patient safety—making a direct impact on the quality of care we provide.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide anesthesia for elective and emergency equine surgeries.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safe outcomes.
  • Assist surgeons with case prep, patient positioning, radiographs, and sterile field support.
  • Maintain accurate anesthesia and surgical records.
  • Keep surgical suites, recovery stalls, and treatment areas clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, technicians, and interns to deliver seamless patient care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Equine experience (minimum 2 years, including horse handling and restraint).
  • Anesthesia administration and monitoring (minimum 1 year, schooling included).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
  • Veterinary Technician License (preferred or in progress).
