Equine Office Assistant
Skills/Responsibilities Required:
The primary role and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
TELEPHONE & RECEPTION
- Provide primary telephone support for the Surgery department; screening and directing emergency and non-emergency related calls appropriately throughout the department.
- Greet and assist clients and visitors.
- Assist clients with directions to other locations on campus.
- Distribute departmental mail.
- Prepare correspondence and transcribe reports.
- Preparation of sales reports.
- Assist with monthly billing.
- Filing correspondence and patient files.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate stock of departmental office supplies.
- Assist with coordinating maintenance for departmental office equipment.
- Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the reception area.
- Report any required repairs to appropriate personnel.
- Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Capable of multi-tasking and utilizing multi-line phone system
- Excellent computer skills - proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Efficient typing skills.
- Medical terminology and knowledge of the Equine and Thoroughbred Industries a plus.
- Excellent Customer Service skills necessary.
- Organizational skills
- Effective communicator
- Innovative, motivated, pleasant personality
- Ability to lift more than 10 lbs
