Senior Accountant

Company Description:

PetVet Care Centers owns and operates more than 420 general, specialty, emergency and equine veterinary hospitals, offering a full range of medical and surgical services for animals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month-end closing process by conducting research and preparing journal entries
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts 
  • Assist in the quarterly and annual reporting process, agreeing all financial statement and footnote disclosures to supporting documentation
  • Prepare and provide supporting documentation related to the annual audit 
  • Manage day to day cash processes including the review of our daily banking transactions
  • Manage the Company's Cash Portal by working directly with operational personnel to gain an understanding of business processes, solving problems, and providing guidance to hospital staff
  • Assisting the Company's Treasurer with all banking relationships 
  • Reconcile the Company's main bank accounts as well as verify and address payment/bank inquiries across the organization
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects including those related to audit deliverables, operational reporting, etc.
  • Serve as the Cash team liaison on projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree of accounting required
  • Minimum of two years of accounting-related experience (preference is public 1 to 2 years)
  • Understanding of internal controls
  • Experience with ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus

Essential Skills:

  • Must be a self-starter and initiator
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. IT, Finance, and Field Operations) to ensure compliance of cash processes at the hospitals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive implementation
Pay Range
$85,000$95,000 USD
