Senior Payroll Manager

PetVet Care Centers is a vibrant multi-state hospital network committed to veterinary excellence in each of our local hospitals and seeks to add the best and brightest professionals to support our team. The Senior Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate pay processing, and is challenged to continually enhance the organization's processes, policies, and practices. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage a team of Payroll Specialists, ensuring accurate bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments and taxes consistent with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll and payroll tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
  • Ensure payroll system is accurately set-up and maintained to reflect current team member wages, benefit deductions and any other payroll information is in line with current policies.
  • Communicate actively with Operations, People and Finance teams to review cross-functional impacts and reconcile data.
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, audit, etc.)
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or significant equivalent experience
  • Expert level knowledge of payroll software/HRIS and understanding of best-in-class payroll processes (Dayforce experience highly preferred)
  • 7-10+ years of total payroll experience, with experience leading teams to successful outcomes
  • Thorough understanding of current payroll related legislation, and ongoing interest to remain up to date on legislative changes that impact payroll
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred

 

Pay Range
$145,000$160,000 USD
