We are seeking a Data Manager with financial background to assist with the governance, integrity, and strategic use of data within our financial ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of relational databases and data analysis with a proactive approach to optimizing data flow, accuracy, and accessibility across the organization.
This role will serve as the cornerstone of data reliability; ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable information drives decision-making, reporting, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Business Intelligence (BI), and Development teams to design, implement, and maintain robust data management frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Governance & Strategy
- Develop, document, and enforce policies, standards, and procedures for effective data management, including data quality, security, retention, and governance.
- Data Quality & Integrity
- Partner with Developers to design and implement validation rules, automated checks, and quality assurance protocols to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
- Conduct regular data audits, root-cause analysis, and remediation of data anomalies or discrepancies.
- Collaboration with BI & Development Teams
- Serve as the liaison between Finance and BI teams to define, prioritize, and fulfill data extraction, transformation, and reporting requirements.
- Translate complex business needs into technical specifications for ETL processes, dashboards, and analytical models.
- Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor key data performance indicators (KPIs) such as data latency, error rates, and completeness; proactively identify trends and areas for enhancement.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Act as the escalation point for data-related incidents; perform advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and system modifications in collaboration with IT and Development.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data flows, schemas, issues, and resolutions.
Required Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Professional Experience
- 1+ years of experience in data management, administration, or analytics, with experience in financial environment (Accounts Receivable, Credit, and/or Revenue Operations).
- Some experience in designing and enforcing data governance frameworks.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in MSSQL (T-SQL, query optimization, stored procedures, indexing, ASSIS), Excel and Power Pivot.
- Some experience with relational database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Soft Skills
- Exceptional analytical and logical thinking with a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Outstanding communication skills—able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
- Strong collaboration and influence skills; comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
