Veterinary Technician (Full Time)

PetVet Care Centers' MetroWest Veterinary Clinic is currently seeking Veterinary Technician (Full Time) to join their team.

We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented, Veterinary Technician to join our great team.  Someone willing to go the extra mile, giving our clients and their pets the best experience.

We are a veterinary clinic open Mon to Sat. Our part time veterinary technicians work 10 to 30 hours per week, 8 -10 hour shifts during the week and weekends/Saturdays are 4 hour shifts, for which we are open until noon. This job is requiring working Saturdays.

Experience with Avimark software a huge plus. Strong communication skills are a must.  We currently have one open part-time position, (Saturdays are required) and we may consider full-time for the right candidate.  Candidates with CVT, RVT, LVT are preferred. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese an added bonus.

Position Overview

  • The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  • The position includes room technician duties, obtaining patient history, performing TPR, reading animal behavior, providing patient care, calling/emailing/ texting clients, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, monitoring anesthesia, assisting during surgery and operations, provide nursing care, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, oversee triage and discharging patients, filling prescriptions, maintaining patient medical records, and helping with front desk duties.

Qualifications (Required)

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimal 3 years' experience
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
  • Basic veterinary technician duties, TPR, client education, in house lab work.
  • Drawing or obtaining samples. IV, IM, SQ and oral medication administration.
  • Surgery & Anesthesia experience, able to induce and intubate cats/dogs, place IV catheters, operate IV pump, monitor anesthesia, prep for surgery and recover patients post operatively.
  • Experience performing dental cleanings, digital dental radiographs and monitoring.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Newly graduated Vet Techs from AVMA accredited program with experience may be considered.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/Portuguese a huge plus!

Schedule

  • Required Saturday rotation-Saturdays from 8AM to 5PM.
  • Will have one day off during the weekdays, every other week when working Saturday.
  • Monday : 8AM to 6PM
  • Tuesday : 8AM to 6PM
  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9AM-5PM
  • Saturday : 8AM to 5PM
