Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician (Overnight Shift)

Northside Emergency Pet Clinic is looking for compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Emergency Veterinary Technicians to join our 24/7 emergency team. We are an ER located in Westminster providing critical care to the pets of Westminster and surrounding communities.


Position Overview

  • The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on emergency care including triage, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, anesthesia monitoring, and more.
  • Assist veterinarians in critical cases and surgical procedures.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients with attention to detail and compassion.
  • Communicate clearly with clients about treatment plans and patient updates.
  • Support a collaborative team environment while maintaining the highest standard of patient care.

Qualifications (Required)

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology preferred.
  • Certification: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary care, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
  • Skills: Proficiency in animal care, diagnostic procedures, and medical recordkeeping.
  • Attributes: Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Patient Care: Conducting examinations, taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, and assisting with surgeries.
  • Diagnostic Support: Performing laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and assisting with emergency procedures.
  • Client Communication: Providing updates to pet owners and ensuring clear communication regarding patient status.
  • Medical Records: Accurately documenting patient information and maintaining up-to-date medical records.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all medical equipment is properly maintained and sterilized.
    Team Collaboration: Working closely with veterinarians and support staff to provide cohesive patient care.

Schedule:

  • Thursday to Sunday: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Pay Range
$28.80$35.20 USD
