Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Manager, Early Career DVM Recruitment to lead PetVet’s national veterinary student recruitment and engagement strategy. This role is critical to building and maintaining a strong pipeline of future veterinarians and reinforcing PetVet’s position as an employer of choice for new graduates.
The Senior Manager will drive strategic campus partnerships, student-facing programming, and externship coordination, while leading a team of campus recruiters. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between PetVet and veterinary schools across the country, ensuring our presence, programs, and messaging reflect our commitment to mentorship, career growth, and clinical excellence.
This is a high-impact role that blends strategic planning with hands-on leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the veterinary education landscape, a passion for student development, and the ability to build relationships that drive long-term recruitment success. A veterinary degree (DVM) or background is strongly preferred to effectively connect with the veterinary academic community and communicate the clinical value proposition of PetVet’s nationwide network.
A key component of this role will be leading successful onboarding efforts and working collaboratively with clinical leaders to ensure a consistent, supportive, and impactful mentorship experience for new graduates transitioning into practice. This individual will help shape the first impressions and long-term success of early-career veterinarians across the network.

Key Responsibilities
Campus & University Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinary schools, faculty, and student organizations.
- Represent PetVet Care Centers at career fairs, conferences, and on-campus events across the country.
- Promote PetVet Centers as an employer of choice for veterinary students and new graduates.
Student Recruitment & Pipeline Development
- Design and implement strategies to attract and engage DVM students throughout their academic journey.
- Develop partnerships to support externships and early-career placements.
Program Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage a team of campus recruiters, providing guidance, coaching, and performance support.
- Set and track recruitment goals, student engagement metrics, and hiring outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hospital operations and medical leadership to align recruiting efforts with business needs.
Program Oversight & Onboarding
- Oversee externship program logistics, student placement, and mentor coordination.
- Partner with center teams to ensure meaningful clinical and mentorship experiences for students.
- Lead successful onboarding efforts for new graduate veterinarians, ensuring a smooth and confident transition into clinical practice.
- Collaborate closely with clinical leaders to design and deliver consistent, high-quality mentorship experiences across the network.
- Support early-career veterinarians in their development by creating a structured, supportive environment that promotes long-term success and retention.
- Shape first impressions and foundational experiences, playing a key role in the professional growth and satisfaction of our newest DVMs.
Branding & Outreach
- Work with marketing and branding teams to develop compelling student-facing content, including social media campaigns, event materials, and digital resources.
- Ensure consistent messaging around PetVet’s value proposition, mentorship culture, and career pathways.
Data, Reporting & Strategy
- Monitor and analyze data on student engagement, school performance, conversion rates, and program impact.
- Use insights to optimize campus strategy and guide team priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; DVM or veterinary background strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in veterinary recruitment, university relations, or campus engagement.
- Outstanding relationship-building, communication, and project management skills.
- Comfortable with frequent travel.
- Passion for veterinary education, student success, and building the future of the profession.
