  • Local autonomy with national support
  • Career mobility and development opportunities
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment where your wellbeing comes first

You care for pets. We care for you.

Position Overview

The Director of Central Operations plays a central role in driving operational excellence across the organization. This position combines project management, process improvement, data analytics and relationship management to ensure that cross-functional initiatives are executed efficiently and deliver measurable impact. The role partners closely with Field Operations, Customer Support Teams, and external vendors to turn strategy into action — and action into insights.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of cross-functional projects that impact site operations.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, milestones, and communication plans.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Track project progress, risks, and deliverables; report updates to leadership.
  • Standardize project management tools and templates to create repeatable systems.
  • Own and manage the company’s project prioritization calendar — responsible for determining which initiatives are most pertinent, maintaining visibility of current and upcoming projects, and overseeing the process for CST members to submit new project requests.

Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with company vendors and oversee the annual vendor dollar allotment.
  • Serve as the point of contact for vendor engagement requests and track utilization of vendor support funds.
  • Submit vendor requests to T&E and recommend allocation of vendor spend across initiatives and recognition events.
  • Maintain visibility into total vendor partnerships, spend, and ROI, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Process Improvement

  • Map current workflows and identify inefficiencies across operational processes.
  • Partner with field and corporate teams to simplify and standardize procedures.
  • Build and maintain operational playbooks, SOPs, and resource guides.
  • Implement feedback loops to ensure improvements are practical and sustainable.

Data & Insights

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to measure operational performance and project outcomes.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards (in partnership with Finance and IT).
  • Track key KPIs such as site throughput, staffing, pricing impact, and initiative adoption.
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights and recommendations based on trends and results.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure consistent alignment between corporate and field operations.
  • Support communication and rollout of initiatives to field leaders and site teams.
  • Manages direct relationship with our preferred vendors, and the annual spending allotment
