Surgery Appointment Technician
**Signing Bonus Available for qualified applicant**
Are you a client-focused technician or assistant who enjoys the surgical aspect of veterinary care? We are looking for an experienced technician or assistant to help support our busy Surgery Department.
Surgery Appointment technicians and assistants work under the direction of our Surgeons to communicate with and educate families on a variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical diseases including cruciate ligament injuries, fractures, joint disorders, oncological surgeries, gastrointestinal issues, and many more.
Surgery Appointment Technicians and Assistants are responsible for, but not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting medical records for synopsis
 - Eliciting succinct medical history from pet owners
 - Gaining patient vital signs
 - Obtaining diagnostic-quality radiographs
 - Phlebotomy and performing lab work
 - Generating proper computer estimates for procedures
 
Ideal candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent communication and client service skills
 - Basic medical terminology and anatomical identification
 - Ability to take initiative and follow direction
 - Ability to work in a team oriented environment
 - Be friendly, outgoing, and people-oriented
 - Must have sound decision making skills and be able to multi-task while working in an environment of stress
 
Our Surgery Appointment Technicians enjoy a 4-day workweek!
We strive to help our technicians and assistants maintain a healthy work-life balance by offering set schedules so you can plan your life outside of work. Your schedule will consist of four, 10-hour shifts per week, with 3 days off.
Schedule:
- Day shift
 - On call
 - 10-hour shift
 
2+ years’ experience as a veterinary technician is required.
RVT preferred
