Internal Medicine & Radioiodine Veterinary Technician (Credentialed)

Veterinary Referral Associates is looking for a full-time Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician. VRA is a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital located in Gaithersburg, MD. Our AAHA-accredited facility spans over 30,000 square feet and offers a comprehensive range of services. With advanced diagnostics capabilities like CT, MRI, ultrasound, and in-house pathology, we provide top quality patient care

IMed Technician Responsibilities:

  • Run appointments, sedate patients, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in managing various diseases and perform multiple scope procedures
  • Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine doctors to communicate recommendations to clients
  • Build strong relationships with clients to ensure excellent pet care

We have specialists in Anesthesiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Physical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.

We actively promote cross training in all departments and we are seeking motivated individuals who are interested in learning how to run all of the hospital's equipment and perform all of our intricate procedures.

Schedule

This position is full-time hourly with an anticipated schedule to include 40 hours and 5 shifts per week. There will be an initial 90-day training period of various shift rotations which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends.

On-Call Requirement

Full-time employees are required to sign up for 24 hours per month of hospital on-call coverage following 90 days of employment. Anesthesia technicians and assistants will transition to the Anesthesia on-call calendar after the Medical Director and Anesthesiologist’s approval.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or the Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT)
  • Must have excellent phlebotomy skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to take initiative, follow direction and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Must have sound decision making skills and be able to multi-task while working in an environment of stress
  • Ability to safely and securely restrain animals using proper restraint techniques

Pay Range
$25$38 USD
