Veterinary Technician
The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated, quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. You will assist in treatment, provide patient care, and maintain medical records.
This position requires approximately twenty hours per week per month (Tuesday-Saturday). Generally, hours are as follows:
- Tuesday - Six hours- to admit, collect payments, send paperwork to Radiocat, assist in treatment, complete required survey paperwork, call clients with updates, and attend to patient needs.
- Wednesday-Friday - three hours divided – one and a half hours in the morning to feed and clean patients, call clients with updates, and one and a half hours in the evening to feed and clean.
- Saturday - Five hours - Release patients, clean the radiation ward, complete required paperwork, and send to Radiocat.
Tasks include:
- Admitting patients.
- Collecting payments and forwarding to Radiocat.
- Care for feline patients.
- Maintain radiation state-required records.
- Maintain medical records by documenting patients' conditions, reactions, and changes.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures in compliance with applicable legal regulations.
- Phone contact/support with clients.
- Releasing patients.
- Complete required radiation safety paperwork, forward to Radiocat, and retain an accurate, state-required treatment binder.
Requirements before entering the radiation ward:
Training provided by the Radiation Safety Officer or Radiation Safety Compliance Manager
DOT certification within three years
Radiocat issued dosimetry badge
