Charge Capture

Description: The Charge Capture position provides support to maintain the client billing process and ensure charging and cash collection procedures are being completed correctly.This position requires a high aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy.  Areas of focus include Client Financial Communication, the Charge Entry Process and Accounts Receivable.

Tasks:

  • Create estimates for hospitalized patients, communicate costs to client and obtain signature for authorization to provide care.
  • Ensure client leaves initial deposit. Update invoice and collect additional deposits, as necessary, if treatment plan changes over the duration of hospitalization.
  • Enter all charges for hospitalized cases based on Instinct treatment records and the written medical record in Cornerstone.
  • Review invoices for errors; correct errors and document the overall value that was over or under charged.
  • Ensure all charges are updated and correct before client checks out.
  • Correct outpatient invoices, as necessary, to reflect the correct provider code and accurate DVM production.
  • Process monthly Accounts Receivable statement mailings and phone calls to collect outstanding balances.
  • Assist in collection of payment plans
  • Act as back-up to Cash Team for close-outs and bank deposits.
  • Apply discounts and close open invoices in Cornerstone weekly.
  • Process client refunds.
  • Update and submit Accounts Receivable status on the PetVet portal weekly.
  • Submit accounts for formal collections procedures.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience, minimum 3 years
  • Cashier experience and/or account reconciliation experience.
  • Medical billing or veterinary billing experience.
  • High school diploma or GED, may consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures such as alphabetizing files and records
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays
  • Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and/or extended periods of time standing and/or walking
  • May involve some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Pay Range
$23$24 USD
