Western Veterinary Hospital- RISE DVM / VMD Mentorship Program
The RISE Mentorship Program is a year-long immersive experience designed to support new veterinary graduates as they transition from an academic setting and into the “real world” of clinical practice. RISE Centers pair new graduate veterinarians with experienced mentors to provide hands-on learning, real-time case management, and professional development. Participants also join a nationwide cohort of peers, building a supportive network that lasts well beyond the program.
Who is this program for?
- New veterinary graduates who are eager to practice high-quality medicine and grow their clinical skills in a supportive, real-world setting.
- Candidates interested in working in General Practice (GP), Emergency (ER), or Mixed Animal Practices, depending on location availability.
What does this program offer?
- Full-Time employment in a RISE Center with hands-on mentorship, while slowly transitioning to independently managing a caseload.
- Dual Mentorship Model: On-site support from a "home hospital" mentor and centralized guidance from the national mentorship team.

Center Details:
Western Veterinary Hospital, located in San Angelo, TX, has been providing families and their beloved pets with compassionate care since 2015. As a full-service hospital, we offer a wide range of comprehensive veterinary services to keep your pets in great health, from wellness exams and vaccinations to dental care and internal medicine. We also offer equine services, such as wellness exams, core vaccinations, surgery and more!
San Angelo is a growing area of West Texas, located in the Concho Valley region. San Angelo embraces the western frontier while showcasing many cultural attractions. San Angelo is home to a fine art museum, symphony and performing arts center. Also home to the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo which is the 4th largest in the nation! Not to be remiss the educational options here in San Angelo are wonderful, from Angelo State University to SAISD amongst additional education options, the resources are endless for students. The San Angelo State Park is one of only 103 state parks in Texas and serves as only one of four parks that are home to the Official State of Texas Longhorn Herd.

New graduate veterinarians can receive up to $50,000 in total signing bonuses, including up to $35,000 through our new grad sign-on program, plus an additional $15,000 early sign-on bonus for candidates who accept their offer by May 31.
